A Hungarian-born, Vienna-based artist wants to give you the universe. Her murals, created with UV-sensitive paint, create surreal landscapes that can only be seen when the lights go out.

Bogi Fabian turns bedrooms into fantasy worlds with her paintbrush, often working for hours with a black light in order to see her work as she paints them from her imagination onto the walls.

In the dreamy murals that she skillfully paints on bedroom walls, the universe comes to life with stars and galaxies reaching out to each other, waterfalls that flow into hidden streams, mysterious bamboo forests, and even magical jellyfish that seem to fly into another dimension.

Because she uses a mix of traditional paint as well as UV paint, her artwork takes on different meanings when they are in daylight, and when they are viewed under a black light.

Born in Hungary in 1984, Fabian shares that her childhood and teenage years were filled with exploration and artistic expression. She began experimenting with UV paint when she moved to Italy in her 20s.

According to her artist statement, she wants to to create new experiences for spectators of her art.

"I am trying to create dreamful atmospheres, paint walls and floors and manage to enlighten my art with and without a source of energy. Thus, the spectator can experience the result in the daylight as well as in the dark, and in that way enjoy it in all its facets. My goal is to create unique spaces and rooms giving them an identity and a soul, where relaxing and living become an experience," she said.

In addition to murals on walls, Fabian also paints glowing ceramics and body art. With the strokes of her brush and imaginative fantasy, she makes the seemingly mundane and ordinary take on new aspects of magic and wonder.
