Mortal Kombat 11 DLC support is over as NetherRealm studios turns its gaze to its next project.

Official Twitter Release

NetherRealm took to Twitter and announced for all to see that there will be no more downloadable content coming to Mortal Kombat 11.

After two years since it's release in April 2019, there will no longer be any new characters, skins, and other planned updates for the game.

NetherRealm has created a lot of expansions throughout all Mortal Kombat games, particularly the recent game which made the roster of 25 go up to 37 fighters in total. The characters of Mileena and Sindel were already part of the Mortal Kombat universe and were an obvious choice to bring into the game.

In stark comparison, new characters added were icons in different worlds such as, The Joker, The Terminator, Robocop, and even Rambo, extending the franchise crossovers with other worlds. NetherRealm's announcement said it's now going to be "focusing on its next project," with no hint of what said project actually is.

Fans Speculate

Fans are speculating and eagerly awaiting the next game the studio is about to work on.

Many are already thinking of the next installment of the series franchise but after the ending of Mortal Kombat 11, we might be seeing a new game altogether.

Of course, it goes without saying that it's going to be all about the great animations and fighting gameplay that NetherRealm is known for.

Creative director Ed Boon was the one who announced on Twitter about the studios new direction, and he teased a few emojis that might be the next game. Take it with a grain of salt, however, as it's still far too early to tell and we just have to wait for the next announcement the studio will eventually make.

Thankfully, it's most possible that both WB Games and NetherRealm will still be working together closely, or at least into the foreseeable future.

Fans are eagerly awaiting for any and all news as to what the two studios might be cooking up within their offices.

For now, we all just have to wait.

Every Mortal Kombat 11 DLC

The addition of DLC characters in Mortal Kombat 11 has kept fans playing the game in eager anticipation of mastering all characters to their core.

The first of the DLC characters introduced Robocop, Fujin, and Sheeva.

Coming in next would be from Kombat Pack 1, which included icons as Spawn, The Joker, Nightwolf, Shang Tsung, Sindel, The Joker, and Terminator T-800. That pack alone offered so much variety for players to enjoy for months and gave a new challenge to overcome.

The crowned "best DLC" for Mortal Kombat 11 is undoubtedly Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition which introduced all the main characters and all DLC additions as well that contained all of NetherRealm's DLC all packed into just one price.
