'Dark Souls 3' Bandai Goes from 30 FPS to 60 FPS

Just a short recap for those that aren't really aware of what's being talked about, "Dark Souls 3" is one of the gaming masterpieces that was developed by FromSoftware and officially published by Bandai Namco and was released back in 2016. For gamers that have played multiple games from multiple publishers before, it's hard not to know about Bandai.

According to WindowsCentral, the game was previously playable at a decent 30 FPS through the use of backward compatibility on the newer Xbox Series X consoles. However, what's the point of having the new Xbox Series X if games can only be played at lower FPS through backward compatibility?

A new update would bring the Xbox FPS Boost support to allow "Dark Souls 3" to be able to run at a whopping 60 FPS on both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. Basically, for those that want to play the game at its 60 FPS setting, it is important to have the Xbox FPS Boost.

FromSoftware's 2016 "Dark Souls 3" will finally be able to run at a decent 60 FPS on both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S with the use of the Xbox FPS Boost. According to the technical experts over at Digital Foundry, the game finally meets its more modern 60 FPS target with the use of "night-on flawless performance."

Playing Games at Up to 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X|S

Jason Ronald, the Xbox director of product management, noted on Twitter that getting the game "Dark Souls 3" to be able to run along with the Xbox FPS Boost actually required a new technique. Roland, however, did not specify what that technique was.

The Xbox FPS Boost would allow users to play backward compatible games at an upgraded setting to run at double, or in some rare cases even quadruple, the original FPS or framerate. Some games have been able to make a jump from 30 FPS all the way to 60 FPS or even hit 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

The feature was introduced some time earlier this year as there were multiple titles like "Skyrim," "Prey," "Metro Last Light," and even more updated games to be able to take advantage of the brand new hardware. Microsoft has also officially spoken about increasing the whole resolution of backward compatible games as well. Hopefully, this will be a new feature that users will get to see in the coming months ahead.
