Dr. Anthony Fauci, or Dr. Fauci, has been assisting the public by giving updates directly from WHO to help deal with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Fauci has once again given an announcement stating that Americans who are already fully vaccinated will no longer need to get a "booster shot."

Dr. Fauci on COVID-19 'Booster Shot'

According to the news by CNN, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country's current leading infectious disease expert, had just recently made it clear that those individuals that have already been fully vaccinated against the ongoing COVID-19 will no longer need to get a booster shot.

As per Fauci, there is "no need for a booster shot. Testing for COVID-19 has also been improved as new technologies can provide rapid but accurate results for as fast as 15 mins."

The doctor also gave a statement saying that the message is now very much clear, and that the CDC and the FDA have stated the same thing.

It was noted that they are already doing the studies in order to determine both if and when they will be able to make the final statements when the data becomes available.

Pfizer Says It Sees 'Waning Immunity' from COVID-19 Vaccine

It was then clarified by Dr. Fauci that there was no mixed message in the statement as to avoid confusion.

In order to provide some context, Pfizer, the biopharmaceutical company responsible for providing a portion of the world's vaccine, announced that it has actually seen waning immunity coming from its coronavirus vaccine.

The announcement by Pfizer noted that although the efficacy in preventing serious illness remains high, they have still seen waning immunity coming from its coronavirus vaccine. The company, however, did not detail the evidence of this particular claim or statement.

The company did say that a third dose might actually be needed in the next six to eight months after getting a full vaccine.

The company also noted that it would publish additional "definitive data" some time soon, and in August 2021, the company would seek the emergency use authorization coming from the US FDA for another booster dose.

Despite the announcement given by Pfizer to the public, just a few hours later, the US Food and Drug Administration and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officially issued a joint statement.

According to the statement by the FDA and the US CDC, it was stated that individuals who have already been fully vaccinated will no longer need to get booster shots.

The CDC has also just recently released its school guidelines for 2021. It was noted that the use of face masks will be required for those that have not yet gotten vaccinated.

As of late, the US is getting more lenient with using face masks, especially for fully vaccinated citizens.
