"The Witcher" is a very popular Netflix TV show that was adapted from a best-selling video game franchise of the same name. Now, fans of the franchise can get a mobile game version that is inspired by "Pokemon Go."

The Witcher: Monster Slayer Video Game

"The Witcher: Monster Slayer" is a mobile created by Spokko, a studio based in Poland. The video game launch is set on July 21, and it will be a location-based game that overlays the player's surroundings with environments filled with quests and monsters.

"The Witcher: Monster Slayer" is said to have similarities with Niantic's "Pokemon Go," and players will have to wander around in real life to encounter enemies, get items, and explore the game's story.

The highly anticipated game is a mix between "Pokemon Go" and "Elder Scrolls: Blades" because players will have to swipe their finger to defeat the enemies with a sword and to prepare potions, oils, bombs, and other magical items.

What makes "The Witcher: Monster Slayer" different from the other two is its interactive story, according to PCGamer.

Przemek Tarczynski, the game's quest designer, told TechRadar that this will be the first time that a studio had tried to make a story-driven mobile game. This experiment will open many opportunities for other video games in the future.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer Overview

"The Witcher: Monster Slayer" will have numerous quests that will tell the story of the Witcher and his dark and dangerous world. The players will play one of the titular warriors, according to The Verge.

The main storyline that the player will need to follow will be told through 2D-animated cinematics. The dialogue between the characters will use a 3D engine.

Although the game developers do not want to spoil the game before its release, they hint that the fans will not be disappointed with the epic story they have created.

Fans can also expect to stumble upon some familiar quests from the franchise that will require them to do some dirty work, like chasing down a villager abducted by the monster Nekkars.

Along the way, fans will also run into some familiar faces from the video game franchise. However, "The Witcher: Monster Slayer" is set 200 years before the storyline in the original video game began, so characters such as Yennefer, Gerald, Dandelion, and Ciri will not be present.

"The Witcher: Monster Slayer" will be free. However, players can buy extra resources so they can make pieces of equipment and combat items such as bombs, oils, and potions. The story content and the quests won't cost anything as well, and it will be available to the players at launch.

The story of the game will be told in different sets of quests. At launch, players will have to go through six main quests and six hidden quests.

While the developer of the game agrees that this is a tricky setup, especially for players who have limited mobility, they believe that this will help with the game's overall appeal.

"The Witcher: Monster Slayer" will be available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App.
