As of the moment, Sony is believed to be taking pre-orders of the new PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, which weighs 300-gram less compared to the original version.

Specifically, this version is expected only to weigh around 3.6 kilograms. Since Japan is the first lucky country to receive it, the new gaming gadget is currently exclusive in the Asian country.

On the other hand, some rumors claimed that the new PS5 model will have a different way of connecting a vertical stand to the system. Meanwhile, all the remaining components will be retained.

Speculations added that the remodeled PlayStation 5 will also be available in the United States. However, Sony still hasn't confirmed its actual release date or its availability in other parts of the world.

Lighter PS5's Release Date and Other Details

According to Toms Hardware's latest report, some retailers and other online stores were rumored to sell the new version of PS5 Digital Edition last Tuesday, July 20. However, this information was also not confirmed by Sony.

On the other hand, the giant tech manufacturer also did not specify the actual price of the remodeled PS5. Although the lighter weight seems to be a great enhancement, various critics explained that this can only be achieved if the company removed some of the console's internal parts.

If this is true, there's a high chance that the new gaming device's performance will be compromised. Some experts claim that since 300 grams is still a light of weight, Sony needs to change the cooling system, motherboard, or PSU of its PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

Another way to achieve less weight is by transitioning to an SoC or chipset, which is made using thinner process technology. All these details are still rumored. This is why the best thing you can do right now as a consumer is to wait for the giant tech firm's actual announcements.

Relying On Bots to Get Your Own PS5

The New York Times reported that you can also rely on bots to help you get your most-awaited PlayStation 5. They would certainly become useful since many consumers still haven't got the chance to grab one of their own.

However, experts said that relying on bots is still a risky activity to practice. They added that most of these automated programs are managed by scammers and other cyber attackers.
