Apple could possibly add a feature that will tighten the security among iPhone users. Through Face ID confirmation, people can guarantee that other people cannot steal their files and important documents on their smartphones.
Apple to Bring ID Card Support in Wallet App
The latest beta version of iOS 15 hints at the release of a new way to verify a user's ID through selfies.
Back in June, during the WWDC 2021, Apple mentioned that the upcoming iOS 15 will now back up user's ID cards.
At that time, the Cupertino giant did not specify further information about the iOS 15 beta. Upon the release of iOS 15 beta 4 for the developers, the tech titan seems to be implementing a security process for iPhone users through their selfies.
According to an early report by 9to5Mac on Tuesday, July 27, we could probably see that Apple will soon set up ID cards for upgraded security.
Since this is only a beta version, only a few users can access it. Once this feature passes the final test, users can test how it works in the Wallet app.
Verification to Include Selfies During the Process
Accessing this feature might take a while for the users, but adding the ID card to the smartphone is easy. All you need is to follow the necessary steps to verify your identity. This will keep you secure when using your iPhone.
The concept of incorporating selfies as a validation process will be the main thing for this feature.
Specifically, this authentication segment will boost your security if you are accessing new devices. The case was similar to the previous banking apps that you have encountered.
To give you a glimpse of this iOS 15 feature, the process works like Face ID confirmation. In registering their identity to the smartphone, users will be guided by specific instructions about the appropriate position of the face. This involves smiling, raising eyebrows, opening the mouth, and more.

Apple ID Cards to Arrive in the US This Year
Developing the user's privacy is one of the priorities that Apple always keeps in its mind.
For instance, the on-device analysis will be assigned in processing every user's photo. By the time the user has completed verification of the ID card to the Wallet, he/she can now use the Face ID confirmation.
The tech giant said that it will roll out ID cards in the Wallet in the latter part of 2021. However, it will only be available for US residents at that time.
"Starting in participating U.S. states, add your ID to Wallet for use when you travel. With a tap of your iPhone or paired Apple Watch, you'll be able to securely present your ID to speed through TSA security checkpoints. Presenting your identification is easy and secure with Face ID or Touch ID. Your ID in Apple Wallet is protected by the same technology that makes Apple Pay private and secure," Apple said on its website.
It is expected that by fall, the iOS 15 will be officially released to the public. For now, you can head to the Apple Beta Software Program for the initial testing of the feature.
In June, Apple said that it would add digital car key support in iOS 15. However, if you feel that iOS 15 is still buggy, you can revert to iOS 14 any time by following these steps.
