Crossplay on PC and console has been around since the emergence of the recent consoles, as several PC and console games of the same company or name opened up their matches for both worlds of gaming.

It is a blast to play "Call of Duty" with your friends that do not have a PC setup at home and only have the console. It brings people closer together and helps bridge the daily log-ins which one receives. However, it is not fun and games anymore if a person cheats on a match, much less that of a crossplay where console gamers are at an extreme disadvantage.

Cross-Play: PC and Console

Many games have already been included in the cross-play between PC and Console, and it includes titles like "Fortnite" since 2018, Activision's "Call of Duty," Blizzard Entertainment's "Overwatch," and more.

There are a lot of things to look forward to with regards to cross-play, and one of them is uniting with players of different backgrounds and caliber.

According to the Guinness World Records, Square Enix's 2002 release of "Final Fantasy XI" was the first game in history to allow players a cross-play in consoles like the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

The title had as many as 200,000 to 300,000 daily players which invited a lot for the game as it launched on different platforms. This alone shows the power of cross-platform gaming, in terms of inviting people to join or play amongst each other.

PC Cheaters with Aimbot

However, according to the PC Gamer, many players still engage in using cheat and software that uses hacks to improve gameplay unnaturally. And it is not centered on a single game, rather widespread among the titles that are cross-platform enabled.

One of the most popular cheating software used here is the "aimbot," and it is mostly available on the PC platform, as it can be easily installed as an application. It would help players have a better mouse movement, constituting a "better aim," as they shoot.

Some aimbots are also helping in contributing to a kill in shooter games, even without pointing the crosshairs directly to an opponent.

How to Avoid Cheaters During Crossplay

Users would not have the chance to determine people with aimbots if the game did not automatically ban them during the queueing at the lobby. That being said, users can most likely determine if their opponent or teammate is using an aimbot during the match itself, when seemingly impossible shots can still make "kills."

On the other hand, this goes the same for other cheats. Most players know the gameplay already, as most multiplayer have the same starting level before they upgrade by picking up power-ups and more.

Players would have to sense if someone is cheating, and they may report them every after matches, to avoid them next time.
