Apple will be releasing their next-generation iPhone 13 with a little surprise, according to this new rumor.

Forbes reports that the iPhone 13 will be launching alongside AirPods 3. This information comes from an Apple insider named dylandkt, who has proven to be quite reliable with their Apple product leaks for a while now. The third generation version of the AirPods will serve as another attention-grabber right with the iPhone 13, which is slated to launch later this year.

The leak comes after Apple admitted that the current semiconductor shortage is going to severely hamper iPhone and iPad production. According to CFO Luca Maestri, the company is expecting greater supply constraints than that of June's come September, which is the month that the iPhone 13 is rumored to launch in.

As for the AirPods 3, however, it's not surprising that the chip shortage will also affect it in a big way. This could be even more true if rumors about the 3rd-gen AirPods sporting new hardware are accurate, as reported by BGR. AirPods 3 will have to take every silicon it can get with totally different components and construction from the previous generation model.

For now, the new leaks do suggest that Apple will launch the AirPods 3 sometime in late 2021, which gives further credence to dylandkt's information since it's right in the ballpark of the still-unconfirmed release date for the iPhone 13.

Apple AirPods 3 and iPhone 13: What Is Known So Far?

As Tom's Guide reports, the next-gen phone will allegedly feature the brand-new A15 Bionic processor, as much as 512 GB of internal storage, and Qualcomm's super-fast X60 5G modem. But if you've been an avid follower of iPhone 13 news and rumors, you probably already knew that.

However, one rumor is still more or less up in the air: a 120Hz LTPO display. A refresh rate that high means that the next-gen iPhone will be supporting silky-smooth frame rates and excellent responsiveness, so you won't be feeling almost any input lag at all. Couple that with the powerful A15 Bionic chip, and you have one of the fastest and most powerful phones in the market--when it releases, of course.

As for the AirPods 3, there is much speculation that it can rival another Apple product: the Beats Studio Buds. The new generation of AirPods is expected to further improve on already-existing features in the AirPods 2, such as the "Hey Siri" feature, force-press gesture-based audio control, and active noise-cancelation.

It's worth noting that these features are already in the AirPods Pro, which could mean Apple will have to implement newer versions of them in any way on the upcoming AirPods 3 model. There are even rumors about motion sensor implementation, which leakers say is meant for fitness tracking and integration with Apple Fitness Plus.

Everything still remains to be seen, so keep yourself updated here at Tech Times.
