Not just that, the Your Phone app also allows Windows 11 PC to do basic tasks on your smartphone, such as messaging, calling, and receiving notifications.

As per News18, Microsoft first installed the said feature by default for Windows 10 users last April 2018. However, the app is also found on the Microsoft Store if it goes missing, perhaps due to an accidental uninstallation.

Your Phone works on a smartphone by downloading the "Your Phone Companion" app from the Google Play Store.

It is to note that the app used to be available for iPhones too, but Microsoft decided to drop it due to limitations brought upon by iOS, according to AllThingsHow.

However, the said feature still works on the most widely-used Android devices.

What's more, Microsoft decided to retain the smartphone syncing feature to its latest operating system or OS, the Windows 11.

How to Sync Smartphone Notifications to Your Windows 11 PC

Now that Windows 11 has already been released to the general public, here's how to use the Your Phone app to sync smartphone notifications to your PC.

Similar to Windows 10, the Your Phone app comes preinstalled in the latest OS. As such, linking your smartphone will no longer require any additional download and installation. Just follow these steps:

  • Open the Windows search from the taskbar and look for the "Your Phone" app.
  • Open the app from the search results.
  • Click the Get started button from the app.
  • Sign in to the Microsoft account you used for Windows 11.
  • Download the Your Phone Companion from the Google Play Store on your phone.
  • Open the mobile app and tap "Link your phone and PC."
  • Then, click continue.
  • After which, scan the QR code from your PC using the Your Phone Companion App.
  • Lastly, allow the Your Phone Companion app to access the calls, messages, contact, photos, contact, and even media on your phone.

And that's it. You may now do some basic tasks on your smartphone from your PC. Not just that, you may now check your mobile notifications on your Windows 11 machine as well.

How to Customize Phone Notifications on Windows 11

Now that you're all set to receive your phone alert on your Windows 11 PC, you still have an option to choose which notifs make it. Here's how:

  • Select Notifications from Your Phone app on Windows 11.
  • Click Customize.
  • Then, choose the phone apps that you wish to get alerts from.

With that, you're all set to experience a seamless mobile and PC experience with the latest Windows OS.
