A new user manual has appeared for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which incorporates the changes expected on the device when updated to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. The change indicates the Lollipop update is coming soon, possibly before January is over.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 can rejoice about what appears to be the phone's imminent update to Android's latest operating system, Lollipop 5.0.1. The new user manual, which is currently on Samsung's site, has been changed to reflect the incorporation of the new operating system for several variants of the Note 4, including SM-910C, SM-N910F, SM-N910H, SM-N910CQ, SM-910G, AND SM-910U.

It was expected that Samsung would be jumping straight into the latest version of the firmware for the Note 4 as well as its curved-display Galaxy Note Edge variant, which echoes the design of the Note 4 but has an innovative flexible display that extends to the side of the phablet. The manual also confirms the jump to the latest update rather than an initial update to the older Lollipop 5.0.

The Galaxy Note 4 was an instant hit when it was released last fall, so much so that Samsung, which historically has had no problem keeping its newly released smartphones in stock, could not meet initial demand for the phablet. In many locations it was completely sold out and impossible to find. One of the incentives for buyers was the imminent update to Android's new operating system, and now buyers are finally about to experience the anticipated upgrade.

We recently reported that leaked screenshots showed the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 running Android 5.0 Lollipop in the wild. The superficial visual changes were minor, mainly affecting notifications, with Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz user interface mostly unchanged. The update is expected to improve the smartphone's performance and battery life significantly, however.

The Galaxy Note 4 is Samsung's latest flagship phablet and competes directly with Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Google's Nexus 6. It sports a stunning 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display,a high-performance 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), and a plastic and metal hybrid premium build.

As always, once we hear any new information in regard to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update, we'll be sure to pass it on.
