The new Apple Self Service Repair program is now confirmed to arrive by 2022. The giant iPhone maker said that the consumers in the United States would be the first lucky ones to take advantage of the upcoming initiative.

Although this is the case, other Apple gadget owners across the globe would also have it as the giant tech manufacturer rolls out the new program.
"Apple today announced Self Service Repair, which will allow customers who are comfortable with completing their own repairs access to Apple genuine parts and tools," said the popular iPhone maker via its official Newsroom blog post.
The company added that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 would be the first Apple smartphones to be included in the new Self Service Repair initiative.
What Apple Self Service Repair Program Offers
According to Tech Crunch's latest report, the upcoming Apple Self Service Repair program would provide the essential gadget components, as well as the needed tools so that iPhone and Mac owners could repair their devices themselves.

Aside from the important equipment, Apple also made sure that the interested consumers would have the right knowledge on how to repair their smartphones and laptops.
The giant tech firm would educate them by sending online repair manuals, which would be accessible through the new Apple Self Service Repair Online Store. However, the iPhone maker explained that only written manuals would be available.
Apple hasn't confirmed if it would also release video tutorials about iPhone and Mac repairs.
Other Details of Apple's New Initiative
Aside from the mentioned details above, Apple also confirmed that the consumers could join around 5,000 Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs).
On the other hand, they could also participate in more than 2,800 Independent Repair Providers. This innovation would be useful, especially since the pandemic still prevents many people from visiting Apple Stores to have their gadgets fixed.
In other news, Apple Maps received a new feature that could receive road accident reports. On the other hand, the Apple Wallet app confirmed allowing digital IDs, but with strict requirements.
