Samsung Android 12 Update Now Supports Verizon and T-Mobile Galaxy S21 eSIM

The new Samsung Android 12 update supports both Verizon and T-Mobile for the Galaxy S21 eSIM. The update fixed the problem of U.S. carrier models not having the eSIM capability activated.

Samsung eSIM Support for the Galaxy S21 Series

The eSIM support can be seen on the Samsung Q&A section of the Galaxy S21 series, but U.S. carrier models previously did not have the eSIM capability activated. Samsung's newest One UI 4.0 with Android 12 update allowed the eSIM to become available on users' carrier Galaxy S21 Ultra, the Galaxy S21+, or even the regular S21 itself.

According to the story by PhoneArena, like the previous S20 models, the newer S21 phones only support the eSIM functionality in theory since they turned out to be not active on U.S. carriers. Google and Amazon convinced Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and others to allow the new SIM option for Pixels and iPhones on their network.

US Carriers on eSIM Activation

U.S. carriers were hesitant at the fact that the new eSIM allows users to activate a mobile network plan within their phone. Samsung explained that users can simply switch plans or add another overseas phone number without needing the physical Nano-SIM.

They were all subject to a probe made by the Department of Justice on exactly the same eSIM matter shortly before. This is where Samsung became concerned and the issues now seem to have been resolved.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Android 12 Update Speed

The new unprecedented Android 12 update speed for the Samsung Galaxy S21 models of T-Mobile and Verizon has also unlocked the desired eSIM capability. When listing the Android 12 update feature, Google already had its dedicated eSIM section.

The goods are most likely to be fixed with the Android 12 instead of the One U.I. 4.0-connected generosity coming from Samsung. User i_love_the_usa1776 on Reddit reported that his own T-Mobile Galaxy S21 received the new eSIM option through its Settings app, while Verizon subscribers also reported the same thing.

The eSIM feature allows users to be associated with any carrier. This means that, in theory, T-Mobile phones can be linked with a Verizon plan. The eSIM option came on the unlocked Galaxy S21 models through the One UI 4.0 beta.

However, the One UI 4.0 beta unlock for the Galaxy S21 models didn't update to the stable build. In order to learn how to add an eSIM plan for the Samsung Galaxy, a video tutorial was uploaded by Samsung Germany teaching how to enable the eSIM support.
