Apple is now selling a refurbished baseline 5K iMac through its online store for only $2,119, which is 15 percent cheaper or $380 less than the price of a new model. The 5K iMac is built with an Intel Core i5 processor of 3.5GHz, memory of 8GB, Fusion Drive of 1 TB and an AMD Radeon R9 graphics processor.

Apple is also selling two other versions of the Retina 5K iMac also refurbished. The $2,419 version has a memory of 16GB and a Fusion Drive of 3TB. The $2,549 unit is packed with a memory of 16GB and flash storage of 512 GB.

All three models are listed as in-stock and ready for shipping anytime.

Officially released in October 2014, Apple added the 27-inch iMac with Retina display to the online store's refurbished section. Hopefully, Apple will be adding more reduced price options for the iMac before the first half of the year ends.

Apple touts its iMac products as having the world's most advanced desktop operating system. The OS X Yosemite features an impressive collection of apps that users need in order to perform their daily tasks. It's even designed to allow Mac and iOS devices to work seamlessly together.

"Every new Mac comes with iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. So you can be creative with your photos, videos, music, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations right from the start. These apps have been updated to match the beautiful design of OS X Yosemite. You also get great apps for email, surfing the web, sending texts, and making FaceTime calls -- there's even an app for finding new apps," said Apple.

The Retina 5K display has the capacity to light up 14.7 million pixels, which allows Apple to be consistent when it comes to maintaining its high standard for brightness. Image quality gets the most striking contrast while users are assured that energy consumption is reduced at all times.

Apple has designed the iMac with features that reduce its environmental impact. These include Mercury-free LED-backlit display, PVC-free, BFR-free and arsenic-free display glass. All of its iMac products are made with highly recyclable aluminum and glass enclosures, rated EPEAT Gold, and also meet ENERGY STAR 6.1 requirements.
