Zoom launches its new Avatars feature, which lets its users join video meetings or calls as cute animal cartoons-like how Apple Memojis works.

Zoom Avatars and Cartoon Animals
The new feature of Zoom lets its users fight endless video meetings or "Zoom fatigue" by turning themselves into virtual barn creatures, as per a news story by Digital Trends.
The video meeting platform introduces a new way to spice up the countless meetings that work-from-home folks have to overcome each day, adding a fancy new feature to make video calls a bit fun.
Zoom Avatars virtually changes the faces of its users into various cute virtual cartoon animals, including a rabbit, cow, or fox, as well as domesticated pets like dogs and cats.
Upon replacing the face of its users with cartoon animals, the cute virtual barn friends track the movements of its users, along with various facial expressions.

According to a recent report by Hypebeast, Zoom says that its new Avatars feature "provides a good middle ground for users who don't want to appear on camera."
As such, those who consider themselves camera-shy now have an option to still join video calls on Zoom without the need to show their real faces.
However, unlike using Zoom with its cameras turned off, the video calling service says that the Avatars feature still allows its users to show their facial expressions and other body languages.
Zoom Assures Privacy
The tech firm said that it is not using any facial recognition tech to make its Avatars feature work. Thus, its users should not worry about privacy concerns.
Zoom said that the feature only works by telling whether it is your face or not. However, it does not use facial recognition nor does it store images of its users on its servers.

Zoom Avatars: How to Use
The Avatars feature on Zoom is now ready to use on its various platforms, such as macOS, Windows, and iOS, as long as it is running the 5.10.0 version.

To use Zoom's Avatars, follow these simple steps:
- Enable video on your Zoom client.
- Then, go to the meeting toolbar.
- After which, select the "Stop Video" menu to open other video options.
- Then, click "Choose Virtual Background or Choose Video Filter."
- From there, open the Avatars tab to choose your cartoon animal.
