Amazon Prime Day 2022 is the shopping event that many consumers are waiting for. The e-commerce giant celebrates the event in mid-July but would release teasers and schedules in advance.

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was moved to October, and in 2021, the event was pushed to June. This year, Amazon will return to its roots and bring back Prime Day to July.

Schedule of Amazon Prime Day 2022

According to CNET, Amazon did not release the fixed schedule for this year's Prime Day, but the e-commerce company did confirm that the event would happen. To give an idea on how the schedule for the even normally works, here are the dates from the previous years:

Amazon Prime Day 2015 took place on July 15 and Prime Day 2016 happened on July 12. In 2017, Prime Day was celebrated on July 11 and July 12. In 2018, the tradition continued, and Prime Day took place on July 16 and 17. In 2019, Prime Day happened on July 15 and July 16.

In 2020, Amazon Prime Day was delayed due to the pandemic, and it took place on October 13 and October 14 of the said year. In 2021, Amazon moved Prime Day to its earliest date, from June 21 to June 22.

The e-commerce company usually goes for Monday and Tuesday or Tuesday and Wednesday combinations. This year, if Amazon returns to mid-July, customers can anticipate it to take place between July 11 to July 18, according to The New York Times.

What to Expect for Prime Day 2022

Amazon has not released the deals for this year's Prime Day, but if consumers go by the company's rule of thumb, Amazon's first-party devices like Echo speakers to Kindle readers will definitely be on sale, according to Laptop Mag.

Consumers can expect to see the Echo Dot 4th Gen, which is the company's newest model of the Echo Dot. It normally sells for $50, but it went down to $29 before.

Echo Show 5 may also make an appearance. It normally sells for $85, but it was offered at an all-time low of $45 last year. Expect Prime Day to bring a new low price for the device.

Fire TV Stick 4K regularly sells for $50 and dropped to $25 last year. Since then, it's only hit $30 as a low, so it would be great to see the e-commerce giant get aggressive to push this as the best streaming stick option for consumers during Prime Day.

Halo View Fitness Tracker is Amazon's newest fitness tracker regularly sells for $80, and it has dropped down to $50 just once. Since last year, it's only been on sale two other times, with prices at $60 and $65 respectively.

Amazon Music may also go on sale. It is normally priced at $7.99 per month, but Amazon usually runs promotions that extend the trial to 3 months instead of 1 month.

Of course, inflation is currently at the highest levels this year, so it is possible that consumers won't be seeing these types of record price drops.
