Activision Blizzard is changing the status of its part-time employees or those working under contracts to a regular employment setup that will give them benefits and a steady stream of income. The decision came after several activities that led to unionizing against the company that fought for labor rights. It came to fruition now, and the company is giving pay raise to its workers.
Activision Blizzard is Promoting Part-Timers to Regular Employees
The Verge's report says that an official statement from Activision Blizzard's Vice President of Communications, Jessica Taylor, confirmed that it is promoting part-timers to regular employees. It will consist of 1,100 temporary workers and game testers that will have stakes in the companies that will enjoy its benefits and hourly rate.
There are also claims that the company is bumping up their status in their work and will receive the same benefits that regular people enjoy, aiming to bring their appraisal to the company. Taylor said that the Quality Assurance team is a big part of their game development, and its division will be critical to bringing new titles to the public.

Activision is Also Giving Out Pay Raises
Activision Blizzard is not only giving regular employment status to those that are part of the workforce and those that participated in unionizing against the company but also a pay raise for everyone. The company claims that it will give a minimum wage of $20 per hour on their salaries, and the rate will be for everyone in this regularization.
However, a report by Bloomberg negates this, particularly the Raven QA testers, saying that they will only get a regular employment status and not a raise.
Activision Blizzard Issues
Activision Blizzard had massive issues in the past before its Microsoft acquisition, and after the move to a new company, there are still that see problems with the company. One is with its shareholders, that think Microsoft is not prioritizing the best interests of the company, and the board members filed a lawsuit against them regarding this issue.
There were also several cases of sexual harassment by executives to employees in the company, and there were reports that claimed patriarchy is an obvious situation within the company. Activision Blizzard created a committee that will fight against this last year, but some reports claim it is only for symbolism and is dysfunctional.
The latest issue on Activision Blizzard now is its labor setup and employment, with many employees unionizing and speaking up against the company for its treatment of them. However, the company now made a move regarding this, and it claimed that all part-timers will already have regular jobs, despite joining the union that brought up the case.
