Initially used for cinematography and video needs, the DJI drones prove to also be effective for other needs that exceed their main purpose.
DJI is Gatekeeping Its Drones in Russia and Ukraine

According to a report by Reuters, the massive Chinese company famous for its drones and flying technology, DJI, is gatekeeping all of its drone deliveries and shipments to Russia and Ukraine. There were reports back then that drones from commercial companies like DJI were deployed in the country and used as weaponized technology.
Some parts of the conflict used drones for surveillance needs, but some were weaponized as it is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAVs). DJI made its stand regarding this with its recent move and decisions to support neither side of the international conflict.
DJI decides to focus on its principles as a company that developed the technology for its main purpose of showcasing art.

According to The Verge, DJI moves away from geopolitics, with its drone technology's main purpose being to promote cinematography and sightseeing several places that allow its use. Some drones focus on competitions as well, with a sky race that fans in the niche hobby focus on using DJI and other manufacturers' drones.

Drones are a revolutionary device that brings many features for cinematography and videos to capture a unique perspective on establishing shots, mainly to showcase more of the scene in a clip. It brings a powerful message to everyone, and it is not only for artistic takes on videos that flexes the capability of the filmmaker to have that kind of technology.
The technology now helps to capture more aerial shots or views in maps and certain databases and it helps in getting more of the location for those that need it. Other purposes of drones focus on rescue operations, from surveying places hit by natural disasters or calamities, down to being the actual device to help rescue animals.
DJI is one of the many drone companies that feature this technology that can fly around and provide help to people, giving them more to their needs apart from videography. However, it condones its use to weaponize their drones as it defeats the purpose of the technology for all.
DJI shows a neutral stand on their decision, with the drones only for capturing aerial photographs or videos.
