Not to mention that it also gives enthusiasts a treat with its manual transmission.

As per a news story by AutoCar UK, the historic German automaker, Porsche, revealed its new 911 Sport Classic, which befittingly flaunts a familiar retro design.

It is worth noting that the all-new 911 Sport Classic is the second entry of the Germany-based carmaker into its Stuttgart Heritage Design collection.

DETROIT, MI - JANUARY 11: Porsche introduces the new 911 Turbo S at the North American International Auto Show on January 11, 2016 in Detroit, Michigan.

But what sets the Sport Classic apart from the more recent Turbo is both its transmission and drivetrain, according to a recent report by Car and Driver.

Porsche unveiled that the 911 Sport Classic draws power from its rear wheels via its seven-speed manual transmission, giving it a more classical sports car treatment.

On the other hand, the 911 Turbo features an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission along with an all-wheel drive.

Porsche’s new 911 Sport Classic showcases an iconic retro look, bringing back the good ol’ manual transmission.

To be precise, the engine both 911 Turbo and Sport Classic share produces 542 horsepower, along with a powerful 442-pound foot force of torque.

On top of that, the German automaker also slashed some weight off its new 911 Sport Classic, which lightly weighs 1570kg. To put it into perspective, it is roughly 70kg lighter than the current 911 Turbo offering out there.

The performance of the next generation 911 Sport Classic should not be taken lightly as it could rapidly accelerate from 0 mph to 62 mph in mere 4.1 seconds. It could also go as high as 196 mph at its top speed.

Porsche 911 EV?

Meanwhile, although iconic sports car maker Porsche continues to offer fuel-powered and retro-looking vehicles, the German firm is not shying away from futuristic advances in its upcoming offerings.

A recent report from InsideEVs says that Porsche is reportedly working to electrify its 911 sports car. But the CEO of the carmaker Oliver Blume, said that it is only producing 911 BEV, not an all-electric counterpart.
