AMD's refresh of their current-gen RX 6000 series GPUs are just around the corner. And now, their prices have already leaked ahead of release. But are they worth it?

Tom's Hardware has shared the MSRPs for the RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT, and the RX 6650 XT. Team Red is expected to set the 6950 XT's price at $1,099; the 6750 XT will reportedly cost $549, and the 6650 XT will be around $399. All these three cards are expected to launch on May 10th.

When compared to the MSRPs of current-generation RX 6000 series cards from AMD, these refreshed versions appear to be more expensive. Well that's because Team Red designed them to have faster memory (18 Gbps compared to the older 16 Gbps) and clock speeds, but will also have a much higher TDP. This means that if you want to use either of these GPUs, your power supply will need to be up to snuff.

The information comes from VideoCardz, who spotted the MSRPs on what looks to be an official AMD promo banner for the three cards. But out of the three, it seems to be that only the RX 6650 XT will not be sold on Team Red's web store. What this could mean is that the card will not have a reference design, and you'll only find AIB versions of it from long-time AMD partners (i.e. Sapphire, XFX, etc).

Only time will tell if these new GPUs will remain close to their MSRPs, considering how graphics card prices have come down in recent times. But if they do stick close to MSRP, then each card will be a very attractive option compared to the current street pricing of base RX 6000 GPUs.

As of this writing, you can expect to pay as much as $2,400 for a 6900 XT. The same thing goes for the 6700 XT (between $485 to $1,250) and the 6600 XT ($400-$685). Since the refreshed AMD cards are faster, they could be a great option for the three major resolutions: 4K, 1440p, and 1080p.

But until AMD formally announces the pricing, these leaked MSRPs are unconfirmed. We will all know the exact figure when May 10th comes.

Are These New AMD Cards Worth It For The Price?

To answer this question, you need to see the performance uplift that the refreshed AMD RX 6000 series GPUs have over their predecessors. Good thing is that some folks have already gotten their hands on some for early testing.

First up is the RX 6950 XT. According to PCGamer, a leaked benchmark has the new AMD card beating the already beastly RTX 3090 Ti from NVIDIA in 3DMark. The 6950 XT posted a whopping score of 22209 in Time Spy, which is far beyond the 3090 Ti's 20855. The once proud 6900 XT is even further down the line at only 18463.

All in all, the 6950 XT looks to be promising at least a 20% improvement over the 6900 XT, which sounds a little too good to be true considering it only costs $99 more at MSRP. So take this with a grain of salt until the official reviews are out.

As for the 6750 XT, here is an alleged game benchmark of it from the YouTube channel Mark PC:

To cap things off, the 6650 XT posted a 3DMark score of 10262, according to Guru3D. The 6600 XT could only muster 9244 points, which is a pretty significant performance bump since the former only costs $20 more at MSRP. This is in direct contradiction to another leak Tech Times reported back in April, where the 6650 XT was only slightly faster than its older brother.

For now, we all have to play the waiting game for official results.
