AT&T is now looking at a new way to track you down and locate users better when using the 911 Emergency Calls in the country, as it will utilize the device's GPS location for its use. It will forego the traditional way of using cell towers to locate an emergency call from a user. It promises a better response time for the concerned public servants for a particular case.

The massive cellular company announced that it would focus on a new venture bordering on location-based call routing to help the first responders adhere to calls of help and assistance. AT&T said that it would forego the traditional use of cell towers for their response to locating individuals that made the call for help.

The 911 emergency calls use a call center agent that would then help locate their area through the many cell towers surrounding a specific place. It would then pinpoint them to the location of the call and communicate it to first responders, that would then provide their assistance on foot.

It would have a better response time as call center agents would no longer need to triangulate or use cell towers to see where the call came from but use the device to tell them where it originated.

Better Response Time and Accurate Locations

According to Mac Rumors, AT&T is paving the way for a safer society with access to emergency responders and 911 calls better, bringing a more accurate system than before.

Moreover, it will help people contact the emergency system without telling their location if their situation is already on a life-or-death setup or when they are endangered.

AT&T and its Take on Cell Data

AT&T will take a massive amount of data once it uses the new setup it will bring for 911 emergency calls as it can tap into a device and accurately access where it came from for a better response. It would have mixed perceptions from the public, and the feelings about this will contradict each other, especially as AT&T has a massive reach among its many subscribers

The telecommunications company is best known for its move to focus on 5G, the new frontier of data connections, as the company focused on bettering its services for its expansion. One of the most notable improvements made by AT&T is with the 5G C-Band spectrum that brought their cell towers and signals to airports that may interfere with instruments.

Now, there would be a significant change that AT&T will bring to the public, and that is with the unique location access that it will border on for the betterment of the 911 emergency call service.

Note that it is only AT&T that announced this venture, and it is not coming to all service providers out there, and those under its services will have this improvement whenever they call 911.
