AT&T users will now have an easier time getting their hands on either Google's Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro.

NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 15: American photographer Annie Leibovitz (L) discusses the new camera features on the new Google Pixel 4 smartphone during a Google launch event on October 15, 2019 in New York City.

Google's latest lineup of Pixel phones is very popular and the company has made it easier for customers to purchase them directly through its online store.

Since the launch of the Pixel 6 series, they have been sold through the Google Store in unlocked, Fi, and Verizon configurations. Although the unlocked model works on AT&T, it doesn't come with a compatible SIM card and doesn't support the carrier's 36-month financing plans.

That's all changing now because Google Store now has AT&T versions

How It Works

AT&T users will need to pay a bit more for a mmWave-compatible Pixel 6 on the carrier at $699 with a $100 markup over the unlocked model.

Customers need to use the 36-month financing plans to get a phone from Google, but it will reduce the cost to only $19.41 per month. On the other hand, the big brother model's price stays at $899.

The Catch

Customers can get these carrier-specific models at their full retail cost but they need to be purchased through the company itself.

Another thing is that the color choices are limited in which the Pixel 6 will only come in Stormy Black. So, for those who want to get the other colors, they will need to look somewhere else. The Pixel 6 Pro only comes in Stormy Black and Cloudy White.

A Trade-In

Also recently, AT&T kicked off a promotion that will reduce $800 from any of their best Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy phones, which could mean a free phone or a big discount.

The deal works like this: AT&T is willing to give $800 in credits to apply over 36 months on a new phone if customers trade something in. To be eligible for the promo, you will need to buy a Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro or top Galaxy phones, such as the S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Fold 3. You can see the full list of eligible trade-ins here

This is a 3-year contract deal, which means you need to be dedicated to AT&T and their network to go for this. Customers also need to subscribe to one of their top unlimited plans that start at $75/month for a single line. The bill credits from the $800 discount that starts after three billing cycles. And if you cancel, you will need to pay for the rest of the phone immediately.
