The Ryzen 7000 CPU will be based on the Zen 4 architecture that will be available this year. It is anticipated to allow for high-performance 5nm x86 CPUs with a 25 percent increase in per-watt performance. It will also have an 8-10 percent quicker Instructions Per Clock (IPC).

The Zen 4

The Zen 4 is the company's fourth-generation AMD architecture that powers the Risen family of desktop and laptop processors. It will bring significant gains when it comes to efficiency, which will enable AMD to extract more performance out of its CPU design. Overall, there will be a 35 percent improvement.

This is said to be their answer to Intel Alder Lake that introduced 12th Get Core processors. What's interesting is by the time the Zen 4 processors are released, Intel may already have its Raptor Lake out there. However, one thing's for sure, we are bound to see good gains from the Zen 4 compared to AMD Ryzen 5000.

The Zen 5

On the other hand, the core of the Zen 5 CPU will be designed from the bottom up. This will ensure its performance and efficiency that will work effectively across various workloads and features. It will also include Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning enhancements that will be released in 2024. Additionally, it will be built on 4nm and 3nm nodes.

The RDNA 3

When it comes to their graphics, the RDNA 3 gaming architecture will be chipset-based and created on the 5nm architecture. It will then feature the next-gen AMD Infinity Came technology. Additionally, it will also carry multiple upgrades that will give it a 50 percent per-watt performance that will be better than the RDNA 2 design. This is scheduled to be released by 2024.

Other Updates

They also talked about the next-gen laptop SoC designs, which are also referred to as the Phoenix Point. They will combine the Zen 4 processors and the RDNA 3 mobile GPUs, which will then integrate new image scale processes and better power management. It is also noticed that it will come with more advanced refresh and response display capabilities.

Indeed, this is a promising news following the Ryzen 6000 series notebooks. The laptop will be called Strix Point, which will be released in 2024.

Also, during their presentation, the company talked about their AI software advancements, cloud computing hardware, and data center innovations.

Consumers will see more action from the chipset company at the end of 2022.
