The giant automaker by Musk is known for a lot of remarkable things. It is now the largest EV maker in the world, but most of all, its cars could seemingly go through flooded roads like an amphibian.

Tesla Model Y vs. China's Flooded Streets

As per a news story by Inside EVs, fuel-powered vehicles are notoriously known for one of their weaknesses, deeply flooded roads. It comes as its gas engine could go into hydrolock once water seeps in under the hood.

A hydrostatic lock could end up a vehicle stranded in the middle of deep waters. But on top of that, it could permanently damage the engine.

On the other hand, electric vehicles could better handle flooded roads, and Tesla proves that in the latest viral video on Twitter.

The capabilities of Tesla EV to survive deep floods are mostly seen in the streets of China, wherein typhoons typically hit the Asian territory.

In fact, according to a recent report by Teslarati, the Gigafactory of Tesla in Shanghai, China has a distinct flood simulator to test both the Model Y and Model 3 in challenging road conditions.

Perhaps the flood simulation itself made sure that Tesla EVs do a better job in surviving deep flooded roads in the Asian nation.

Tesla Model Y Survives Flood

A video posted by a Twitter user that goes by the name "Ray4Tesla" showed how the all-electric crossover, Model Y, overcame the deep waters on the roads of China.

The clip started showing a blue sedan stranded in the middle of the flood with its blinkers turned on.

Teslarati suggests that the car in the video appears to be an ICE vehicle, the petrol and diesel offering of the Chinese automaker BYD.

After a few seconds, a Tesla Model Y arrives driving over the road, which was deeply entrenched in the flood.

Unlike the stranded sedan in the video, the all-electric crossover effortlessly passed the deep waters, making it seem like was no flood at all.
