Elon Musk recently said in a tweet that Starlink will be changing the default WiFi network name to 'Stinky.'

He followed up with another tweet that reads, "If you can't smell your WiFi, how do you know it's real?"

Musk said that he's pretty sure that the new name is unique and will encourage people to change it. However, it is unclear whether Musk is joking.

The tweet didn't go well as some netizens called him out. One said, "You're a child."

This isn't the first time that Musk has received backlash from the online community. Just recently, the SpaceX CEO was called out when he fired some SpaceX employees.

The Rise of Starlink Globally

Also, last month, it has been recorded that Starlink is now serving over 400,000 subscribers worldwide. The company has launched over 2,500 Starlink satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to deliver global coverage. It is currently in talks with the FCC to authorize its plans for a constellation of up to 30,000.

On Friday morning, SpaceX launched another 53 Starlink satellites into orbit aboard the Falcon 9 rockets. The new launch also sets a new reusability record for SpaceX that makes it its first 13th launch and landing of a Falcon 9.

Starlink is a high-speed broadband internet service from SpaceX. It is connected to a constellation of satellites in LEO. They aim to make the service affordable at viable speeds anywhere and everywhere across the world.

It has two main components: the satellite dish and the user terminal. The disc is connected to the Starlink satellites and transmits the received broadband signal to the user terminal. This supports wired connections and acts as a WiFi router. The terminal is responsible for the receiving, decoding, and sending the signal to and from the end device.

The company also claims that the Starlink network will provide internet speeds that are 600 times faster than the current average speeds in the US. The company expects internet coverage across the Earth and will be able to provide service to the most remote areas that are currently unable to access broadband.

The Future of Starlink

The Starlink satellites are becoming so popular because of their promises to deliver affordable, fast internet across the globe. The system is also much more affordable than traditional satellite systems. This is because the company's technology does not require high-power satellites and expensive launching costs.

Starlink will be a huge help to those who need it the most. Many in Asia and Africa don't have internet access, particularly those who live in rural areas. They can now expect to have the same internet access as their counterparts in developed nations.

However, there are some concerns about Starlink. For example, the potential for disrupting global navigation systems, the potential for crashing into each other, and radio frequency interference. These may have to be addressed in the near future.
