With more and more companies moving towards electric vehicles, Chrysler has plans for one of its models, the 300 sedans, for 2026. The company plans to release a 300 EV which is expected to share a chassis with a Dodge sedan and run on 800-volt architecture.

Chrysler was Only able to Deliver a Little Over 115K Cars in America in 2021

According to the story by Inside EV, Chrysler is reportedly in need of revitalization since the brand is already lagging behind when it comes to its dated lineup. In 2015, Chrysler was only able to sell over 324 thousand vehicles in the United States.

In 2021, the company was only able to deliver just a little over 115 thousand cars in America. The company has lost a large portion of the market share due to its competitors having more modern and attractive offerings.

Chrysler's Limited Offerings Include the Pacifica Minivan and 300 Sedan Models

The company, as of press time, only offers the Pacifica minivan and 300 sedan models. Both of them are extremely outdated with the Pacifica being around for more than half a decade without many updates.

There were a few facelifts that happened in 2021 along with the PHEV powertrain option addition but this did little effect to help the company hide the vehicle's age. The 300 current-gen has also been selling ever since 2021 and received a minimal facelift back in 2015 but has since remained the same.

Company Introduces a 'Near-Production' Concept Called the Airflow at the CES 2022

Should Chrysler not want to become the next Pontiac or Mercury, they need to take drastic action. The marque is, fortunately, part of Stellantis after the PSA Group and FCA merger.

This means that there is still access to a large pocket of resources and funds. Chrysler also seems to be heading in the right direction since in January of this year, it was able to show off a "near-production concept" called the Airflow during CES 2022.

Chrysler 300 is Expected to Receive an Electric Version by 2026

As per the publication, insider information revealed that the company has been working on a new Chrysler electric sedan and that it has already started. The new EV is expected to be similar to the four-door model from Dodge, a subsidiary of the Stellantis group.
