Nintendo Switch 14.1.2 firmware update reportedly banned users of the hybrid gaming console from typing a bunch of nasty bad words.

It means to say that gamers using a Nintendo Switch would no longer be allowed to utter more naughty words while chatting with other players.

And it is not just a few prohibited words. A data miner has learned that Nintendo went on to block "large amounts" of naughty terms.

Nintendo Switch 14.1.2 Update

As per a news story by Nintendo Life, the firmware update version 14.1.2 came out to Switch players last mid-June. And it was followed by a new "rebootless" update late last month.

However, the support page of the Japanese gaming firm was a bit vague about the changes that it brings to Switch users.

The release notes only share that the initial 14.1.2 update comes with "general system stability improvements." It should essentially improve the overall experience of its users.

Nintendo seems to avoid being more specific about this. Weeks have passed, and there are still scant details about its latest update.

Nintendo Switch 14.1.2 Bad Words

Initially, a data miner that goes by the name OatmealDome unearthed some of the changes in the latest firmware update of the hybrid gaming console.

The Nintendo data miner shares that there were some bug fixes thanks to the new update.

On top of that, the latest firmware also added the misspelled name of Adolf Hilter from its banned words. It should prevent its users from typing "hdolfaitler" on their Switch.

Nintendo Bans More Nasty Terms

According to a recent report by ComicBook.com,  the latest "rebootless" update on Switch gaming consoles has actually expanded its list of banned words extensively this time.

And Oatmeal Dome seems to have continued his quest to learn more about this mysterious Nintendo Switch firmware update.

It turns out that Nintendo added a "large amount" of bad words, preventing Switch users from using them.

However, the mystery continues as the Switch maker keeps mum about it. So, the list of new prohibited words has been stubbornly kept as a secret like the Krusty Krab secret formula.

Even the skills of Oatmeal Dome were not enough to expose the list of newly banned words. But despite that, the data miner discloses that the update added new bad terms.

Oatmeal Dome recently tweeted that the latest firmware bans "large amounts of swears." It also prohibits tons of racial slurs, as well as sexual terms and words referring to terrorist groups.
