"Breaking Bad" is one of the most influential television series in the world, and it brought a significant show that centers on crime, corruption, drug use, and other illegal activities. While all those sound bad in the real life and could certainly land a person in jail, it is a great plot for a video game adaptation that show creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould are interested in making.

Moreover, they want it to be like "Grand Theft Auto," with its creators, Rockstar Games, to develop the rumored game.

According to a recent podcast entitled "Inside the Gilliiverse," show creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould joined as guests, where they were interviewed regarding a video game adaptation of "Breaking Bad."

Here, the show creators revealed that there are plans regarding the new video game, and it would relive the story of "Breaking Bad," which takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with other elements from the show.

It would also bring the likeness of Bryan Cranston as Walter White, Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, along with other characters from the show.

Gilligan revealed that there were multiple efforts in creating games before, and all of them were eventually scrapped, with no game in the present.

'Breaking Bad' Game: Wants Rockstar to Develop Title

ComicBook Gaming reported that at one point, Gilligan brainstormed an idea for a game to be made by Rockstar Games, and it will be similar to its creation of "Grand Theft Auto" as it makes sense. Both titles have elements of crime, drugs, and corruption which will be a fit for both teams.

Gilligan also mentioned that he is not "well-versed" in the video game industry.

Other efforts, including a VR game for the PlayStation, were something they initially pitched but also met their end.

'Breaking Bad': Significance in the Mass Media

In 2008, there was a show that changed the life of the public and brought a highlight to the underground drug ring with the show called "Breaking Bad." The show was only slated for five seasons that ran for five years via AMC, with its last episode airing last September 2013 for the world.

It brought massive awards from the Emmys and received critical acclaim for its story, plot, acting, production, and more. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, along with the cast and crew of "Breaking Bad," made their mark on the US and global televisions with the show.

With its end and short run, the public wanted more of the show, its characters, and setting, with multiple rumors regarding a video game adaptation that would bring back Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. However, those games did not make any significant progress or development until now.

Despite a "Better Caul Saul" show that is collectively the prequel, coinciding with the present events of "Breaking Bad," and featuring what happens after, fans want more from Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Now, they are openly talking about a game that they would develop and wants the "GTA" creators to join the project.
