China then asked the South Korean government to maintain its previous setup where it did not deploy more THAAD missiles in its base after its latest announcement.

The Pentagon again postponed a key test of its troubled "THAAD'''' anti-missile defense rocket, seen this file photo, due to a commercial power failure, the Defense Department said.
According to the South China Morning Post, South Korea confirmed that it is not deploying more US THAAD missiles in different locations, and are looking forward to a summit with both leaders coming together.
This is after a significant plea by China that asked the South Korean government to follow the previous administration's footsteps that did not add more of the missile defense system. China claimed that the presence of more THAAD missiles is a direct threat to them, something which greatly affects their security.
Vice Foreign Minister Cho Hyun-dong claimed that Seoul is considering not deploying more US THAAD batteries among their current armament present.

US THAAD Missiles: What Are They?
The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system is a United States-controlled missile defense battery that South Korea availed from the country for their needs. It was first intended for Seoul's defense against North Korea's growing military activities back in 2016.
According to a press release from US Senator Ben Cardin, "the United States reaffirms our commitment to the defense of our Allies and to develop a comprehensive set of Alliance capabilities to counter the growing North Korean ballistic missile and nuclear threat."
Defense and Missiles System
The United States' innovation in weapons and defense systems gave significant development to the country's focus on security and made it a known manufacturer for defense needs in the world. The country gave its partners and buyers many defense equipment that it developed, with one example being its donation to Ukraine, with the High-speed Anti Radiation Missiles or HARM.
Due to Ukraine's technology that still uses old aircraft and equipment for their military, the country needed to be creative in using the donated tech given to them. The Ukrainian Air Force previously retrofitted a US HARM device to their old fighter jets to use for its needs, with a video showing that the country was successful in making it happen.
South Korea is a known ally of the United States, and both have different engagements in technology and defense, with one example being Seoul's plans for its space deployment and missions with SpaceX.
The US THAAD missiles are sophisticated defense systems that are readily available to South Korea, and the country gets a significant boost in its security and advancement towards other countries. However, Seoul is looking forward to meeting with China's leader, and it may signify that both are looking at no military tension against each other.
