They are referring to LG and Samsung, which will specifically increase the PPI (pixel-per-inch) density of the AR headset's microdisplays; from 2,800 PPI up to 3500 PPI.

However, other speculations stated that Sony could be the first OLED supplier of Apple for its new virtual reality gadget.

If this is true, the 3500 PPI may not be achieved by the new Apple Glasses since Sony hasn't worked with VR headsets above 3000 PPI.

But, you can still expect 3500 PPI OLED microdisplay density in the wearable's successor, which is the Apple Glasses 2nd-Gen.

Of course, the successor of Apple Glasses will take more years before it could arrive as the first model hasn't been released yet.

Apple Glasses Release Date

Tom's Guide reported that the new Apple Glasses could debut before 2022 ends.

But, since the giant iPhone maker is busy working on other products, other enthusiasts believe this wearable could arrive around 2023.

On the other hand, the Apple Glasses 2nd-Gen is expected to be released by the iPhone maker around 2024.

When it comes to price, the Apple Glasses could range between $1,000 AND $3,000. Of course, all these details should still be taken with a grain of salt as Apple hasn't confirmed them.
