Google is getting ready to introduce its brand-new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones in New York, but before the big event, a surprising leak emerged on the internet.

It suggests that the price of the Pixel 7 in the United Kingdom will be the same as it was for the Pixel 6 - £599.

The Last-minute Leaks

Prior to the official launch, the Pixel 7 smartphone was seen listed on an Amazon webpage.

SlashLeaks spotted the leak, discovering that the Amazon Spain website had this phone listed for €649 (643.87).

The news comes following another rumor involving US retailer Target, claiming that the Pixel 7 will be priced at $599 and the Pixel 7 Pro will cost $849.

Since the leak indicates that the newest Pixel model will cost the same as the previous model in both the US and Europe, it is possible that the price will not change for the consumers in the UK either.

Priced Increase in Most Gadgets

The fact that prices for certain other popular products have already increased makes this leaked information a piece of great news!

In a report by Express, the price of the PlayStation 5 increased earlier this year, almost two years after the device was first introduced. Meanwhile, Apple devices unveiled in September are more pricey in the UK than their predecessors.

These price increases can be attributed to a variety of factors, including inflation and the pound's declining value. But, inflation is not any easier to take when other necessities and bills are also rising amidst the current cost of living crisis.

Thus, it appears that Google is going against the trend by maintaining the same prices for its Pixel line, which may help it win over Apple enthusiasts unwilling to pay new prices.

In the UK, the iPhone 14 starts at £849 (965.41), while the iPhone 13 was priced at £779 ($885.81).

Pixel 7: What We Know So Far

At this year's Google I/O conference, held in May, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro were revealed for the first time, along with the company's unveiling of its flagship devices.

Both models have an elevated, rectangular camera bump that protrudes from the back of the device. The design is pretty much similar to the previous units. Nevertheless, the camera hump on the Pixel 7 has a more distinct cut-out for where the lenses are placed.

Aside from that, the punch-hole selfie camera at the middle of the display has made a comeback.

The Official Release Date

Google is set to officially unveil its newest Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones on Oct. 6, Thursday, in New York City. The upcoming Made by Google launch event will present the gadget's full specifications, the confirmed release date, and the handset's price.

Additional information about the Pixel Watch and Next smart home portfolio will also be disclosed on the said showcase.
