A new addition to the tools of Microsoft Office Suite has been announced.

Microsoft Designer

A report from Interesting Engineering stated that Microsoft just recently launched its newest tool and addition to the roster of the Microsoft Office suite. Microsoft Designer, which the company offers free, allows its users to create clip art from words. Through a text-to-image model or an AI tool, it can create a variety of unique designs by only typing descriptions.

The app is very similar to the existing apps that do have the same feature, such as DALL-E 2 and Canva. In fact, Microsoft integrated Designer with DALL-E as the creator (OpenAI) of the AI software and was one of the developers that were backed up by Microsoft. 

According to XDA-Developers, the idea of the company to develop this application came from Powerpoint, as it suggests template options based on what the users include in its presentation. But the difference between Designer to this is that it will be more advanced and innovative. While this can be used for presentations, users can also do several useful purposes.  

Microsoft has a large base of users from several sectors like as companies, government agencies, and schools. CNBC reported that through this newly launched app, the company could expand to additional markets that can also perceive the interest of enterprises.

Waitlist for Early Access

Before launching it as application software, Microsoft released its newly added app for a web preview only as the company wants to know the feedback from several creators and users for them to improve Designer. An invitation will be given by the company for early access to the app. Eventually, the app will be free and will be part of Microsoft 365. To join the waitlist, you may register on the official website of Microsoft Designer.

Additional Microsoft Creator Tools

Aside from the launch of Designer, Microsoft introduced the additional parts of its Creator app. This includes the Create and Image Creator. As per the report, an AI text-to-image model will be added to the company's search engines such as Bing and Edge. This app is made for users who want to design social posts, videos, presentations, flyers, and other projects that require an artistic perspective. 

As of now, Microsoft Create is currently available to access and as per the company, users may expect additional features in the future.

Clipchamp also joins Microsoft 365 as it was formally launched through an announcement by Microsoft. This app will be officially part of the productivity suite. Previously, premium filters were available to the subscribers of Microsoft 365. This gave some of the publications and idea that Clipchamp might join the roster of the suite.
