"The better they do, the better we do"

YoFan CEO Chris Poohachoff has been in business for a long time. In January 2022, however, he and his team started to work on something that will change the influencer space forever: providing creators with the opportunity to finally make the money they deserve

Can you tell us a bit about your background?

I was born and raised in Canada, and I've been an entrepreneur since 1995; around that time I was building outsourced marketing agencies in numerous countries within Southeast Asia. After 12 years, I moved to Florence, Italy, where I've been living ever since. In 2014, I joined a startup with my partners from Ukraine, focusing on programmatic advertising and software development.

When it came to starting YoFan, one of the issues I saw was that many content creators live paycheck to paycheck. I wanted to level the playing field for them.

How did you come up with the idea for YoFan?

Unless you're already big or have a massive following on YouTube, a lot of creators work for less than minimum wage. We all know that the influencer space is extremely competitive, but very few truly understand how difficult it is for creators to get brand sponsorships. We wanted to build something so that all creators can make a good living. I know several people who are putting in full-time hours and are treating it as a full-time job but are only making minimum wage. One evening I was speaking to a Google contact of mine, talking about creators and their minimum wages, and boom, YoFan started taking shape.

YoFan was built during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with my partners and developers working from bomb shelters and bunkers. I'm so proud of them. They're the most resilient people on the planet. I'm blessed to be surrounded by my partners. They're geniuses when it comes to development, and they're the best people on the planet.

That's one of the reasons why I think YoFan will be a success, because of the people that created and developed it.

What is YoFan's mission?

We've created a platform where influencers can make a very good living by posting and creating content and making revenue from the ads. They can concentrate on providing amazing content and earn an income from the revenue that ads provide.

From the minute they start posting on YoFan, they start generating revenue from the ads paid directly from Google AdSense. As they build more of a following, they start earning more. When we built the platform, we thought of the creators first. They are our partners. The better they do, the better we do. We didn't reinvent the wheel, we simply offer monetizing options for creators through display advertising.

What are the main problems YoFan helps marketers solve?

We built this platform for creators to monetize their work... now they can make a great living on YoFan.

From our experience, the biggest pain points for creators are the amount of time that goes into content production, the scope of effort needed to create a single piece from scratch, and the difficulty of monetization.

Most influencers and content creators are struggling to make ends meet. We want to change that by helping creators easily monetize their content and make a good living from it.

What do you think of traditional marketing concepts versus new marketing concepts?

People want to be entertained, and now they're being entertained on social media platforms. These days, advertisers focus on social media more than ever, because that's where the largest audience can be found.

Traditional marketing techniques have withstood the test of time and are not going anywhere, but when YoFan itself is a product of modern times, the same way social media is, new marketing strategies take center stage. In order to be at the forefront of innovations, one must be willing to adapt to their audience's ever-evolving needs.

I believe in providing an equal opportunity for influencers to do what they are passionate about, while also monetizing their content and being compensated fairly for their efforts.

Poohachoff's passion for YoFan, as well as the strong bond between him and his team, are sure to inspire many.
