As the world gets more technologically advanced, more robots are appearing as workers in different companies to replace employees from their jobs, and this is something seen on Amazon. The famous e-commerce company already adopted a hybrid workforce that mixes humans and robots, specifically for its warehouses.

The latest information shows a graph of the rising number of robot workers, and this could be something that may grow more in the future and replace more people soon.

According to the ARK invest executive, Sam Korus, Amazon's robotic fleet in its company is rising per year, and it started in 2013 with only one robot. Nine years later, in 2022, the company already has 520 mechanical workers in its warehouses with some being fully autonomous, and others needing human operations.

Korus claimed that he would not be surprised if this number of robots would rise in the future, and ultimately, have more of its mechanical fleet than human workers.

The company's focus on robotics centers on its goals to make the workplace more efficient, with these machines helping out people in their daily operations.

Robots to Replace Workers in Amazon Soon?

On the other hand, the ARK Invest CEO Brett Winton, also created a thread about the rising number of robots in Amazon's workforce, as per the company's press releases.

ARK believes that Amazon will have more robots in the future, and this could effectively replace more workers in its warehouse to a fully autonomous operation for their e-commerce and other business focus.

Amazon and its Robotic Workforce

In different reports and releases of the company, TechTimes saw Amazon's shift to these human-made machines, with some replacing people's roles and responsibilities, particularly in the e-commerce company's warehouse.

The company's latest robot is the Sparrow, and this is a mechanical arm designed to carry on warehouse work, to assist workers in packing goods in containers like board games, bottles of vitamins, and documents.

In another development, Amazon has the Proteus, and it is an autonomous robot that can transport large carts in its warehouses, to bring them from one point to another. The Proteus is one of the top fully autonomous robots available in its fleet, and it is allowed to roam around as it can avoid obstacles and people in the workplace.

The good thing about Amazon's robotic fleet is that it makes workplace management better, especially as it assists workers and managers in their daily tasks, both on the micro and macro scales. However, there is a massive possibility that it could grow more in the future, and this means that the company may have fewer workers to prioritize more machines.
