Apple will release earnings for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2015 today amid a report Monday stating Apple's first foray into the wearable market, the Watch, may arrive come March.

The impending fiscal report could chip away at the credibility of any analyst who issued a conservative or negative forecast on Apple's iPhone 6 devices, given devotees upgraded to the latest smartphone in record numbers.

Propelled by a launch that Apple called "historic," the iPhone 6 series accounted for about 50 percent of new activations during the last quarter of the calendar year, according to a study from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners.

Apple hasn't officially committed to a launch date for the Watch, indicating it will be released at some point this spring.

But a report Monday, Jan. 26, claims a research note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has often been spot on in his forecasts regarding Apple, reveals the wearable is expected to launch in March. Kuo also expects Apple to reveal further details on the Watch before the launch.

As the first generation of Android watches matures and bears offspring, many watch holdouts are awaiting Apple's entry before making a decision on a wrist-worn computer. The Apple Watch reportedly is going to have some battery issues at the start given reports the watch will only deliver between 2.4 and 4 hours of active power and 19 hours of standby.
