We may be celebrating the best films of 2014 right now as we make our way through awards season. However, we should be looking ahead to all of the fantastic films slated to hit movie theaters in 2015. But first, you've got some homework to do.

Specifically, you've got a lot of reading to catch up on. In case you didn't know, a lot of inspiration in Hollywood is of the literary variety, and this year's upcoming films are no different. From blockbuster novels to YA fiction to sci-fi thrillers, you could create a library with this year's book-to-film adaptations.

Here are the ones you need to read right now.

1. Fifty Shades of Grey (Feb. 13)

2. The DUFF (Feb. 20)

3. Insurgent (March 20)

The second book in Veronica Roth's Divergent series will hit the big screen this spring, so hopefully you've read the first book by now, or face major spoilers ahead. Insurgent provides more of the same dystopian future we've come to know and love from the first novel with more war and more of Tris coming to terms with her own Divergence.

4. Serena (March 27)

Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper reunite in this film based on the critically acclaimed Ron Rash book of the same name. The novel follows newlyweds George and Serena Pemberton as they try to grow a timber business in North Carolina and defeat anyone who stands in their way. However, when Serena finds out George fathered an illegitimate child, they turn their hatred toward each other.

5. Wolf Hall (April 5-May 10)

6. Child 44 (April 17)

This first book in Tom Rob Smith's trilogy follows Soviet security officer Leo Demidov as he investigates a murder and then subsequently finds himself demoted and exiled by the state. As Leo continues his investigation with his wife as his only supporter, he begins to discover secrets about his home country.

7. Far From the Madding Crowd (May 1)

This sprawling English countryside of Thomas Hardy's classic novel comes to life on the big screen this spring. What better setting is there for a love story about main protagonist Bathsheba Everdene and her three suitors?

8. Pan (Summer 2015)

This summer's reimagining of Peter Pan isn't quite the same as J.M. Barrie's original book, but it's as good an excuse as any to peruse this classic tale if you haven't read it yet. It'll definitely come in handy for all of the inevitable future Peter Pan adaptations.

9. Paper Towns (July 31)

Get your Kleenex ready, because another John Green novel is about to get its very own film adaptation. Paper Towns follows character Quentin Jacobsen as he searches for the suddenly vanished girl he pines for, Margo Roth Spiegelman. Yes, that does sound like a story Green would write.

10. The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials (Sept. 18)

11. Black Mass (Sept. 18)

In contrast to the other films on this list, Black Mass is based on Dick Lehr and Gerard O'Neill's non-fiction book Black Mass: Whitey Bulger, the FBI, and a Devil's Deal. This book chronicles the true story of notorious Boston gangster Whitey Bulger's deal gone awry with FBI agent John Connolly in the mid-1970s.

12. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (Nov. 20)

The film adaptations of Suzanne Collins' blockbuster trilogy finally comes to a close as the second part of Mockingjay heads to the big screen this fall. If during all of these years, you still haven't read the conclusion of the Katniss Everdeen-led rebellion against the Capitol, now's your chance.

13. The Martian (Nov. 25)

With the release of Gravity in 2013 and Interstellar last year, Hollywood sure has space on the brain. The Martian will continue that craze when it hits theaters in the fall. The book of the same name that it's based on details an astronuat's fight for survival on Mars after everything that goes wrong does.

14. The Revenant (Dec. 25)

This film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. The book it's based on, The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge, is not too shabby either. It tells the tale of 19th century fur trapper Hugh Glass' survival in the wilderness after a bear attack and betrayal.
