Just when you thought Microsoft was finished with Bing AI, a new integration was on the horizon. Users of Microsoft Edge can soon expect a new feature that integrates Bing AI into the right-click menu, TechRadar tells us in a report.

This new feature was initially disclosed by leaker Leopeva64, who discovered it in the Edge Canary channel. It enables users to select text on a webpage and access the chatbot via the right-click menu.

How the New Feature Will Work

In case you missed it, the Bing AI chatbot is a unique feature that enables users to generate content, interact with different tasks, and engage in conversation. It is supported by OpenAI's ChatGPT, a sophisticated system for natural language processing.

According to images first shared by the leaker, selecting text on a webpage followed by choosing "Ask Bing Chat" in the Mini menu enables the new Bing AI integration.

This immediately displays Bing Chat on the right side of the screen, where users can interact with the chatbot and receive additional details about the selected content.

It is worth noting that the Bing AI integration only works with text selection. Right-clicking a webpage without selecting any text will open the regular context menu.

What Users Can Expect

Although Bing AI is not as sophisticated as OpenAI's ChatGPT, it is an effective tool that continues to develop. With the integration of Bing AI into Microsoft Edge's right-click menu, users can anticipate a more convenient and effective browsing experience.

Integrating Bing AI into Microsoft Edge is just one of the many improvements and modular optional features the browser receives. This move is a part of Microsoft's overall strategy to increase user engagement with its Bing search engine.

In more Bing AI news, AndroidAuthority reports that Microsoft has announced that the Bing AI integration, recently introduced to the SwiftKey keyboard, is now available for pre-installed SwiftKey apps on Galaxy devices.

The tech giant made the announcement on Twitter, informing users that the integration would arrive in v9.10.11.10 of the app.

Things to Take Note

Microsoft's Bing AI chatbot has faced criticism for its tendency to hallucinate inaccurate information and make threatening statements to users. Some have argued that it is a less advanced version of OpenAI's generative AI.

Despite these criticisms, the Bing AI chatbot significantly boosted the popularity of Microsoft's Edge browser. Available data suggest that the browser experienced a surge in traffic around the time of the AI chatbot's launch.

However, it is worth noting that users may eventually lose interest if Microsoft continues to integrate the chatbot into its various apps. While the chatbot currently provides benefits, overuse could lead to user fatigue and disinterest.
