Why are people so mean on Twitter? Is it the anonymity, the freedom of being able to say whatever you want with no consequences?

We may never know why people do the things they do, but rather than wallow in self-pity, some celebrities choose to laugh it off. And Jimmy Kimmel is only too happy to give them an outlet for it.

In this case, Kimmel's show put together a montage of musicians and singers reading some of the meanest tweets ever written about them.

It's their reactions that are the best part. Some, like Pitbull, Ariana Grande and Sia (who manages to look even stranger than Lady Gaga, who's draped in vintage snowman), find their tweets hilarious, while others aren't quite so amused. Drake and Josh Groban, for instance.

As for Ed Sheeran, it's hard not to feel bad for him when you hear how cruel his tweet is. And check out that look Jessie J. throws the camera after reading hers.
