LG unveiled its new curved display LG G Flex2 at this year's CES and Sprint has just announced the 5.5-inch phablet's preorder date, price and release date.

One of the biggest smartphones announced at CES 2015 was the LG G Flex2, literally. The phablet is a follow up to the original G Flex, which was launched in October 2013. It was the first smartphone to ship globally with LG's flexible display technology, which consisted of a 6-inch 720p flexible OLED display and a unique 'self-healing' coating on its rear case that allows the device to repair minor scratches and abrasions.

At this year's CES, LG upped the ante on the G Flex2 by giving it an easier-to-handle 5.5-inch curved display and upping its resolution to a gorgeous 1080p compared with the 720p found on its predecessor. The company didn't announce when the phablet would be making its U.S. debut, but Sprint has just let the cat put of the bag by revealing the G Flex2's release date and price.

Sprint announced it will begin taking preorders for the LG G Flex2 smartphone starting on Friday, Feb. 20. The phablet will go on sale on March 13 and Sprint customers will have exclusive access to the "striking Volcano Red" color. Sprint has priced the G Flex2 at zero down, with no finance fees, and 24 monthly payments of $21, which comes out to $504 in full.

The Sprint LG G Flex2 features a 5.5-inch curved 1920 x 1080 Full HD P-OLED display and a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch (ppi). It's one of the first devices to ship with Qualcomm's latest 2 Ghz 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 3 GB of RAM to provide a fast and fluid user interface. It includes 32 GB of internal storage and offers a microSD expansion slot that supports up to 128 GB microSD cards.

The G Flex2 will ship with a high-end 13-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, OIS+ (optical image stabilization), and 2.1-megapixel front-facing cam for selfie fans. It will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and a large 3,000 mAh battery that includes a fast-charging feature that will produce a 50 percent charge in under 40 minutes.

If you're interested in preordering the LG G Flex2, head over to Sprint's website on Feb. 20. The phablet will be released on March 13.
