All eyes will be on Samsung on March 1, as the company unveils its latest flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S6 will undoubtedly be compared with Apple's iPhone 6 and a new video gives a look at how they may stack up.

Samsung is the current leader when it comes to smartphone shipments but has watched sales of its Galaxy handsets begin to slow down when compared with previous quarters. Last year's flagship Galaxy S5 was widely viewed as a misstep for the company due to perception of the smartphone as not being a significant upgrade when compared with its Galaxy S4 predecessor. The company fired many executives in its mobile division because of the stumble and it has reportedly gone back to the drawing board with its upcoming Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Apple's iPhone series will always be a thorn in Samsung's side since both companies make up the lion's share of smartphone shipments compared with other players like LG, Google, HTC, Microsoft, and Motorola. Sales of Apple's latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus shattered sales records and have been the company's most successful iPhones in history. Samsung knows it needs a home run with its soon to be announced Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, since the smartphones will undoubtedly be compared directly with Apple's flagship iPhone 6 by the tech community, analysts, and consumers.

A new video provides a small glimpse into what Samsung might have up its sleeve in terms of the Galaxy S6's design, and how the device measures up to Apple's iPhone 6 based upon leaked schematics of the unannounced smartphone. Jermaine Smit used a 3D printer to create a Galaxy S6 model based on "accurate device schematics."

If the actual measurements of the Samsung Galaxy S6 are equal to the mockup in the video, the phone will be taller and its width smaller than that of the Galaxy S5, making the S6 easier to use one-handed.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 mockup in the video is believed to be 6.91mm thin, which basically matches Apple's iPhone 6 6.9 mm.

As always, it's best to take all rumors and leaks of unannounced, highly anticipated smartphones with a huge grain of salt. The good news is Samsung's March 1 Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge reveal will be happening very soon and we'll be covering the event and providing you with all the details. Check out the video below and stay tuned.
