Apple continues to be the most talked about tech entity in the globe, as CEO Tim Cook spoke with a U.K. newspaper to break down how the Apple Watch will change the world.

With an invite-only event on the calendar for March 9, Apple is on the clock to unveil its next big thing. Cook has done well to keep the hype alive by speaking about the Apple Watch’s functionality to the press.

While explaining how the smartwatch is expected to sell as many as 6 million units, Cook and Apple are exceptionally proud as to how the smartwatch will alter human lives everywhere.

For those who haven’t been following the basics, the Apple Watch will be available in three varieties, will feature phone and messaging capabilities, and will work with Apple Pay. During Cook’s visit to a London branch of the Apple retail store, The Telegraph spoke with the executive who offered some inside information about the Apple Watch in comparison to the Steve Jobs’ created iPhone.

“This will be just like the iPhone: people wanted it and bought for a particular reason, perhaps just browsing, but then found out that they loved it for all sorts of other reasons,” Cook explained to The Telegraph. One of those particular uses for the Apple Watch is enough to anger the automotive industry further past their disdain of Apple creating an Apple-powered electric car. Envisioning the smartwatch to impact the world in such a way, Cook believes that the Apple-branded product will replace the need for car keys.

The company already has a top-secret project dubbed “Project Titan” that aims to cut down on the oil-and-gas emitting cars that have been plaguing the world for the past two centuries.

In addition to that shocking revelation, Cook also notes that the smartwatch will be health focused with apps that monitor your heart rate and will notify users when it is time to go for a walk. The Apple Watch will have a battery that will last an entire day, plus, it won’t take super long to charge thanks to “special magnet technology” used in the watch’s charger.

The Apple smartwatch is leagues apart from previous inventions within the company, as it is the first product that will be released before users have an attempt to test before purchasing. The prospects are high for the company, as the experience may lead Apple to “tweaking the experience in the store,” which he explained to The Telegraph. His newly minted retail chief, Angela Ahrendts, who left Burberry as its CEO to run Apple’s online and retail stores, was praised by Tim Cook in The Telegraph interview.

Until then, Apple fans and tech lovers will have to wait until the special event happens in San Francisco on March 9. Stay tuned to Tech Times, as we will be covering the presentation live as it happens in real-time.
