It seems every like every week another member of the Mortal Kombat X roster is revealed. While we will likely know most (if not all) of the fighters to appear in Mortal Kombat X before its release in April, it will still be some time before we learn what NetherRealm Studios has planned for the game's DLC line-up.

The last Mortal Kombat title featured a number of returning favorite fighters in the game's DLC, as well as a guest character in the form of Freddy from the Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise. NetherRealm's next game, the DC Comics fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us, featured Scorpion as a guest fighter, joining the ranks of DC heroes and villains like Batman and Wonder Woman.

Which guest fighters can players expect to see appear in Mortal Kombat X post-launch? Rumors have been swirling, so we decided to craft our own list of characters we would like to see join the game's combatants. We've tried to keep this list to fighters that could plausibly make the cut, so don't expect to see characters from properties that are in direct competition with NetherRealm's publisher Warner Bros. (cough, Marvel, cough). With that being said, let's dive into our Mortal Kombat X guest fighter wishlist.

Spawn

This crossover might actually happen. Todd McFarlane stated last month that Warner Bros. Interactive has the rights to use Spawn in their video games for a limited time. Will it happen? It definitely seems like a good possibility, especially considering this wouldn't be the comic character's first appearance in a fighting game, having appeared as a guest character in the Xbox version of Soul Calibur II back in 2002.

Talion (Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor)

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is violent. Like, really violent. Sure, Talion is chopping the heads off orcs and ghouls, but at the end of the day this ranger of the black gate is not a man you want to mess with. Couple that with the fact that he is possessed by a vengeful spirit who lives to destroy the dark lord Sauron and you have a character who on paper doesn't sound so out of place in Mortal Kombat. Since Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment publishes both Shadow of Mordor and Mortal Kombat, it could totally happen. NetherRealm just needs to say the word.

Jason Voorhees (Friday The 13th)

Keeping in tradition with Freddy's appearance in the last Mortal Kombat game, it only seems natural to include the hockey-masked horror icon that is Freddy's biggest rival. Jason can be seen in a seemingly never-ending stream of Friday the 13th spin-offs, as the machete wielding psycho murders to his heart's content. Mortal Kombat's brutally violent nature would make including Jason as no-brainer.

Pinhead (Hellraiser)

If you can have Freddy in Mortal Kombat, why not Pinhead? He seems like a perfect fit for the franchise. The leader of a group of creatures who harvest human souls, Pinhead's otherworldly appearance and calm, calculated demeanor would make him a formidable opponent for Mortal Kombat's assortment of characters from across the various realms of the universe.

Oderus Urungus (GWAR)

Of all the guest fighters on this list, to have late GWAR frontman Oderus Urungus immortalized in Mortal Kombat X would perhaps be the most fitting. Fans of the grotesque heavy metal band have been calling on NetherRealm Studios to include the band's leader for months. A petition circulating online boasts nearly 28,000 signatures in support of the idea, and we couldn't agree more. Oderus Urungus would be right at home.

Predator

The ultimate hunter has already appeared in games like Call of Duty. Why not Mortal Kombat? His ability to cloak, futuristic weaponry and metal claws would make him a formidable combatant. Plus, he already has the look down perfectly. He is practically Cyrax and Sektor's long lost brother.

Arkham Knight (Batman: Arkham Knight)

Normally it wouldn't seem like a possibility that a Batman character could make its way into the M-rated and gore filled Mortal Kombat universe. After all, Batman is a PG-13, Teen rated kind of guy. That changed with the announcement that Batman: Arkham Knight will receive a Mature rating when it releases this summer. Some fans speculate the game's new villain, the Arkham Knight, may have something to do with the game's new rating. If the prequel comic book series is any indication, that may definitely be the case. Arkham Knight has shown he has no qualms about blowing away criminals with an assortment of high-tech weaponry. Sounds like a perfect fit for Mortal Kombat's bloody and brutal world. Considering Warner Bros. is publishing both games, and that Mortal Kombat releases two months ahead of Batman: Arkham Knight, it seems like the perfect kind of promotional cross-over to get fans buzzing.

Ash (Evil Dead)

Is there a more beloved horror film character than Ash from the Evil Dead franchise? The chainsaw handed slayer of darkness brought to life by Bruce Campbell on screen is no stranger to battling zombies and foul creatures of all shapes and sizes. He also has a talent for spouting of hilarious one-liners, a skill that wouldn't go unnoticed in the completely over-the-top and often times comical world of Mortal Kombat.
