Fiat Chrysler Automobiles North America has issued a recall order for all of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT coupes and Dodge Charger SRT sedans with 6.2-liter V8 engines, otherwise known as the Hellcats, for possible fire risks.

The total number of vehicles affected by the recall order is 2,211 cars, a majority of which are 2,012 units located in the United States. Of the rest of the vehicles, 148 units are located in Canada, 30 units are located in Mexico, and the remaining 21 units are in other countries.

The recall order was issued by FCA U.S. when one of the company's dealers alerted it regarding possible fuel leakage that was discovered after a pre-delivery inspection of one of the vehicles.

According to FCA U.S., the fuel delivery components concerned with the issue passed the leak test of the supplier. However, when the company's engineers initiated an investigation into the issue, they discovered that some of the hose seals were not installed properly, raising the potential for fuel leaks that could result in fire.

FCA U.S. said that it has not received any reports of accidents, injuries or customer complaints regarding the issue. In addition, no information regarding the recall order has yet been uploaded to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, which is the agency that oversees issues of vehicle safety in the United States.

Eric Mayne, a spokesman for FCA U.S., told Edmunds.com that the recall will start within 60 days. Owners, however, are recommended to contact their dealers or the company's customer service hotline as soon as possible.

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has a starting price of $63,995, while the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has a starting price of $59,995.

"The SRT Hellcat is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8 that outputs a stated 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque and can be best described, in a word, as monstrous," said Antuan Goodwin in a review of the Charger, adding that the car is loud, angry and extremely powerful.

The Challenger SRT Hellcat, on the other hand, was featured in Jay Leno's Garage series on YouTube. Tagged as the most powerful and fastest muscle car in the world, the vehicle was taken out for a test drive in the video by Leno, where he was joined by Dodge President and CEO Tim Kuniskis.

Kuniskis discussed how Chrysler decided to raise the bar for the horsepower of the car, along with several amazing facts regarding the vehicle.
