Samsung has officially confirmed a rollout of Android's new 5.0 Lollipop operating system to U.S. customers on T-Mobile, with Sprint expected soon to follow.

Anxious owners of Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 phablet who have been awaiting an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop are in for a sweet treat if they're customers of T-Mobile. Samsung has just updated its software upgrade page for the smartphone, listing a March 4 release date for the update, which means a rollout of the new operating system is imminent.

As we reported recently, while no U.S carrier has released an official Android 5.0 Lollipop Update for the Note 3, owners of the device in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Romania have all received an upgrade on their international versions of the phablet.

Recently, Sprint posted an internal document on its website, unintentionally alerting users to an imminent Note 3 update. While it appeared as if Sprint customers would be the first to see the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade on their Note 3 devices, it looks as if T-Mobile is now ready to beat them to the punch. No news has emerged regarding Note 3 updates from Verizon and AT&T.  While it was expected that U.S. owners of the newer Note 4 would receive the update first, it looks as if Note 3 users will actually be the first Samsung phablet users to get the sweet taste of Lollipop.

Meanwhile, outside the U.S., the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for a popular international variant of the Galaxy S4, the GT-I9505, has leaked and is available for experienced S4 owners who feel comfortable flashing their smartphones. We don't recommend downloading the update unless you know what you're doing, however, because it could potentially cause issues which inexperienced users may not be able to resolve. With the official update rolling out shortly, the best approach for unseasoned users is to wait patiently.

As far as the U.S. release of Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S4, no new information has emerged, but as always, we'll continue to bring you the latest breaking news on the Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for all of your Samsung devices. Meanwhile, if you've received the update on your T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3, let us know in the comments below.
