It seems almost comical to announce a release date for a game that's been playable for well over a year now. Infinite Crisis, a free-to-play MOBA has been in open beta for about a year, and was in a closed beta for a long while before that.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Turbine, Inc. have today announced that Infinite Crisis' final, no-more-beta, this-is-the-real-deal release date is just a few weeks away.

March 26, 2015 is the date it will begin in earnest. It will be available for Steam users to download on that same date.

Infinite Crisis features an original story set throughout the DC Comics' "multiverse," or parallel Earths, with gameplay focused on PvP battles. You get to play as your favorite superheroes and villains, though the multiverse twist means that those characters come in numerous variations. It falls under the MOBA genre, or "multiplayer online battle arena," and DC fans should be delighted to find that it's a free download and completely free-to-play, though micro-transactions are promoted inside the game.

Turbine has been adding new content to Infinite Crisis throughout the beta periods, and the developer is committed to adding more post-launch on a regular basis. Six Earths are featured so far, along with four distinct game modes, but more of each could be on the way. You can download it or learn more at the game's official website.
