Owners of the HTC One M7 under a T-Mobile subscription will get the Android 5.0 update for their smartphones, according to a tweet by HTC's VP of Product Management Mo Versi.

The latest OS update has finally been approved and will start to roll out on Tuesday, March 10. That means the M7 is also getting the popular features of the latest Android Lollipop version, which include a refreshed Recent Apps page, Android 5.0-inspired notifications, and the ability to perform search right on the Settings app.

According to a previous report by TechTimes, HTC made a promise that it is releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the One M7 device. As soon as the testing phase was over, Google finally released Android 5.0 in November and has officially named it Lollipop.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update on the One M7 was even demoed in a video on YouTube where the device was also seen to have the Sense 6.0 feature. The video, which lasted almost half a minute long, showed off the One M7's updated application menu, which displays a card UI.

"HTC One (M7) T-Mobile Owners! We've received technical approval on the L OS and OTA will start on Tuesday. #htcadvantage," tweeted Mo Versi.

Back in December, it was reported that owners of the HTC One M7 device would get a small software update on the smartphone, which should bring it to an updated version of 6.10.531.10. However, the update was meant to fix the device's "call audio issue" and is not related in any way to the Android 5.0 Lollipop anticipated by One M7 owners.

It should also be noted that HTC confirmed and promised to One M7 owners that their device would be getting the Lollipop update sometime before the end of January 2015.

The HTC One M7 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 of 1.7GHz, Adreno 320 and RAM of 2GB. With a screen display of 4.7 inches and resolution of 1920 x 1080, the device weighs 5.04 oz and measures 5.41 by 2.69 x 0.37 inch. The rear camera is at 4MP while the front is at 2.1MP.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update on the One M7 is scheduled to drop over-the-air. HTC is lucky to be one of the first Android licensees to have an OTA release of the OS to the One M7.
