HTC's One M9 has already been unveiled but the Taiwan-based company is looking to unleash its bigger sibling consumers' way soon.

The specs of the upcoming HTC One E9 (A55), speculated to be the next iteration of the HTC One E8, have leaked online and gave us a peek into what the robust HTC phablet may pack in.

The leak comes courtesy of Upleaks, which is usually spot on. According to the latest leak, the HTC One E9 will sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen - the first-ever HTC smartphone to do so - with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

It is set to house a powerful 64-bit MediaTek octa-core MT6795 processor, which is clocked at 2 GHz in favor of a Snapdragon one.

The One E9 is also rumored to tout a 20MP primary camera and a 4MP UltraPixel front-facing camera like sibling HTC One M9. The phablet will boast 3GB of RAM and support 32GB of in-built storage. The One E9 is slated to come pre-loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 UI on top.

The leak also hints at three colors for the One E9: Metallic gray, White Rose Gold and Brown Gold. Upleaks also shed some light on probable accessories for the One E9 namely a clear, a DotView and leather cases.

While the notion of the HTC One E9 being the follow-up to last year's One E8 are more logical, some experts opine that the One E9 is actually the purported One M9 Plus. However, as we previously reported, the leaked specs of the HTC One M9 Plus are similar to that of the One E9.

However, with HTC poised to make a mid-March announcement pertaining to a new smartphone, speculations that the One E9 could be the "premium device" HTC's President Jason Mackenzie spoke off earlier this week are reasonable.

"When I look at the flagship [the One M9], I see we're building the most premium device, but I can't stop there. We have a huge announcement in middle to late March around extreme differentiation between Samsung and the iPhone. It solves key pain points," said Mackenzie at the MWC 2015.

The price of the purported HTC One E9 is not currently known, but a strong possibility exists that the phablet could be priced in the same bracket as the iPhone 6 Plus.
