The fact that there are living creatures out there that fly is already kind of amazing. Hey, can't a girl appreciate the wonder of nature every once in a while? However, this eagle's flight is the most awe-inspiring of them all.

An Imperial Eagle named Darshan flew off of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Saturday. A Sony Action Cam Mini affixed to the bird captured incredible footage of the descent from the tallest building in the world from the eagle's perspective.

Watch the video, and as you see the bodies of water that look like puddles, buildings that look like LEGOs and cars that look like ants, you may even feel like you're flying. It's pretty magical.

Making it down the 828 meters, or 2,716.5 feet, from the top of the Burj Khalifa to the streets of Dubai, Darshan set the world record for the highest-recorded bird flight from a man-made structure, Gulf News reports.

While I think we're all going to watch this video again and again just to feel as free and weightless as this bird, there was a more significant goal behind this stunt than just entertaining the Internet with a breathtaking video for a couple of days. The flight was organized by Freedom Conservation, an NGO working to reintroduce endangered birds of prey to the wild, in an effort to raise awareness of the plight of these animals. Freedom Conservation has also organized eagle flights from the Eiffel Tower in Paris and St. Paul's Cathedral in London.

Freedom Conservation has already reintroduced White-Tail Eagles, Europe's largest eagles, into the wild, according to Gulf News. The reintroduction of Imperial Eagles, which is the organization's second project, will take about two years.

And in case you were wondering, yes, the eagle has landed.
