With the April 10 release date for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge fast approaching, Amazon has slashed the price of the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint Galaxy S5 to $1.00 with a new 2-year contract

Samsung has been receiving high praise from tech critics and smartphone fans for its upcoming flagship duo; Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The devices have been made available for preorder on most U.S. carriers and will officially be released on April 10. The handsets will replace last year's still impressive flagship Galaxy S5 and it appears as if Amazon is looking to unload as much of its Galaxy S5 inventory leading up to the S6 and S6 Edge's launch.

Amazon has priced the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 for the very low price of $1.00 when signing a new 2-year contract with the carriers. This is a great deal if you'd like to have what's still considered to be one of the best smartphones on the market at a significant savings.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 432 pixels per inch (ppi). The handset is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdrafgon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly. It includes 16GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128GB microSD cards.

The Galaxy S5 is packing a high end 16-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies. Unlike the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, the Galaxy S5 features a large 2,800 mAh removable battery and is also waterproof and dust-resisant.

If you're interested in picking up the Samsung Galaxy S5, head to Amazon, where you can score the AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint smartphone for $1.00 when signing a new 2-year contract.
