The Halo Master Chief Collection has received a care package filled with ranking, stability and gameplay fixes. In announcing the news of the update, developer 343 Industries also revealed that it intends to expand the collection with the release of the Halo 3: ODST campaign project and a Relic multiplayer map remake. Players can look forward to the free update in May.

Here's a peak at what the package has in store:

UPDATES

General Fixes:

○ User interface has been patch throughout the entire collection, with the latest fix focusing on the stability of notification messages.
○ Career stat tracking and the multiplayer playlist have been improved for Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4.
○  General stability improvements have been made to the entire collection.
Fixed "The Guardians Are Coming" and Spartan Ops achievement.

Parties:

○ Improved the consistency of voice chat. Fixed the issue that was disrupting voice chat at the ends of games.
○  Improved party mechanics. Increased the speed of roster population for Xbox Live friends after games.
○  Fixed hanging "Leaving Matchmaking" screen.
○  Resolved a problem that was preventing players from automatically joining new Xbox Live friends.

Ranking:

○  Improved the consistency of ranking and penalties.

New Quit and Betrayal Penalties:

○  Quitting a match in a ranked playlist counts as a loss.
○  Quitting is defined as exiting the game in any fashion.
○  Raging or no, leaving any match counts as quitting.
○  Quitting negatively impacts a player's ranking.
○  Quits and betrayal are automatically tracked and excessive acts of either are being addressed.
